Social media was the main platform to access digital news media in Mexico in 2020, according to a survey. That year, 59 percent of Mexican respondents said that they entered these sites through links posted by friends or people they follow. Meanwhile, 43 percent of people surveyed stated that they follow digital news portals on social media. Nearly four out of ten Mexican survey participants reported to check online news several times a day.
