Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States from August 26th, 2024, to September 1st 2024. There are four different charts: Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies, and a combined total chart.
20th Television's "Prison Break" continues to hold on to the top of the Nielsen streaming chart following its recent release on Netflix. It is also available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. This highlights how the sheer number of Netflix subscribers can boost a show or film, even if it's old, as audiences look for something to binge.
The return of "Only Murders In The Building" saw the show jump back up the trending chart, while the latest season of "Futurama" on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ continues to be one of the most popular original series for Disney.
Disney continues to dominate the acquired chart, with more than half of the shows such as "Grey's Anatomy", "Prison Break", "Family Guy", "Bob's Burgers", and "Criminal Minds" on the chart available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. This also impacts the overall chart, as half of the shows are available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. "Bluey" also continues to be a massive hit for Disney+, and Hulu continues to do well in the overall and acquired charts.
