Commute: Injury updates from Alabama, Brady Cook mentioned nationally

Today we're talking about injury updates, Brady Cook, and recruiting.

After an emotional Homecoming win over Auburn, the attention turns to Alabama.

Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer held his weekly press conference on Monday to preview Saturday's game vs Missouri and provided a key injury update. Starting safety Keon Sabb will be out with a lower extremity injury.

Okay, back to the Auburn win for just a second. Mizzou didn't win any conference player of the week awards within the SEC, but Brady Cook was Kirk Herbstreit's Top Performing Player in Week 8.

Michael Bratton from That SEC Poscast pegged Brady Cook as his Offensive Player of the Week.

Well deserved from QB1.

And in the latest recruiting news, Mizzou target Jackson Cantwell from Nixa, MO is now ranked as the No. 2 player in 2026, per On3 Recruits.

"We got to see QB1 and our ESPN turned J-School professor king go in together..."

Chase Daniel and John Anderson are among the many Mizzou names heading into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

"I don't need to justify our pick here. Mizzou does not win this game without Brady Cook, plain and simple. You know it. I know it. Period."

The "Brady Cook Legacy Game", is that what we're calling it?

"Mizzou still has a lot of winning to do in order to tip the scales of the pain it has endured. But on Saturday, Brady Cook became a legend - in Mizzou's stories, and Auburn's too."

Mizzou is now 17-3 in their last 20 games started by Brady Cook. Just keep winning, QB1.

"Should Crews see the projected number of possessions on offense and maintain his efficiency, we could reasonably project that he averages around eight points per outing. If those eight points come from being a consistent floor-spacing threat, all of Mizzou's players will be better for it."

"The win certainly won't go in the pantheon of beautiful games, but it will go down as one of the grittiest in program history."

This is a win that Mizzou fans will be talking about for a long time.

"My Results: Texas A&M Aggies -- 9th in Conference, 9-9"

Read up on Texas A&M on our latest SEC Hoops team previews led by Buzz Williams and Wade Taylor returning. Sam predicts the Aggies to go 9-9 and finish ninth in the league.

* Tobias Ten from Cal Tobias: Tigers succeed on HoCo Week

"What a Homecoming week it was for Mizzou! On the gridiron, the Missouri Tigers beat Auburn in a storybook-like victory behind Brady Cook. Elsewhere, soccer beat Oklahoma in a renewal of the old Big 8/12 matchup, and volleyball handled Mississippi State in a thrilling four-set win. Here's this week's Tobias Ten!"

The 2024 Mizzou Football season is one that has been met with as much anticipation as any in recent memory. With Eli Drinkwitz's program taking a huge step forward in the 2023 season, going 11-2 and securing a Cotton Bowl victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes, there's a renewed focus on what Missouri can do to put itself in the conversation for a berth in the College Football Playoff.

The digital magazine we present today is 115 pages chalk full of Mizzou Football previewing, scouting, interviewing, and more...
