"What a great career," Longhorns running back Quintrevion Wisner said shortly after Texas' 28-14 loss to Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. "He's a great leader, great person, great individual overall. Truly a blessing to be able to play beside him at the running back position. Wherever he does land, they've got a great leader and a great person."
Where he lands is indeed the question. Texas has America's favorite backup Arch Manning waiting in the wings, and it was long assumed Ewers would leave for the NFL draft after four years in college, including one at Ohio State and three at Texas. Then wild rumors started circulating that he had been offered $6 million to transfer to another school and continue his college career. On Wednesday, Ewers said it would be "selfish for me to be even thinking about it" with the national semifinal ahead. However, on ESPN's College Gameday before kickoff, Ewers hinted that he'd be playing in the NFL next season.
