Wanda McGaughey Wilbanks, 96, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

She was a graduate of Red Bank High School and attended many reunions. Wanda enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, and cooking. Wanda was a lifelong member of Red Bank Baptist Church and taught second graders in Sunday School. She was active with Vacation Bible School and Senior Adults. She studied the stories of hymns and memorized many. She loved the Lord and her family. Her faith has been made sight.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. (Bob) Wilbanks; son, Robert L. "Bobby" Wilbanks, Jr.; and sister, JoAnn Saluk.

Survivors include her daughters, Melanie Wade (Terry) and Joanna Trippe (John); son, David Wilbanks (Lynn); sister, Linda Pendergrass (Larry); seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at American House for their loving care and pecan pie. She made many friends and enjoyed The Bee Hive.

Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Bill Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
