Falafel lovers in Glen Allen will have a reason to rejoice this weekend.
On Saturday, Cava (9964 Brook Road, Glen Allen) is opening in the Creeks at Virginia Centre shopping center.
The latest outpost for fast-casual health-centered Mediterranean meals is 2,880 square feet and will have the same interior design schematic as other Cavas.
Cava serves chef-curated or fully customized bowls and pitas, including three brand new menu items launched in partnership with track gold medalist Gabby Thomas.
Her menu features spicy lamb and avocado ($16.25), which are spicy lamb meatballs, avocado feta, red pepper hummus, pickled onions, lentils and lemon herb tahini. Her garlic chicken and veggie ($11.35) wrap comes with tzatziki, tomato and onion, pickles, cabbage slaw, and crumbled feta, and is topped with savory garlic dressing and wrapped up in a fluffy, sprouted whole-grain pita. And the falafel crunch ($11.35) comes with feta, Persian cucumber, pickled onions, cabbage slaw, romaine, tomato and onion and basmati rice that's topped with pita crisps for crunch.
