A search warrant reveals new details about what happened to Emanuel Bacilio, 31, who was kidnapped and killed in December.
Among those charged is Amir Zion Baker, 17, the grandson of N.C. Rep. Amber Baker.
The warrant lays out what police believe happened to Bacilio on Dec. 12.
Bacilio was initially approached by three armed men at his home on Bainbridge Drive, Winston-Salem police said.
The suspects rummaged through Bacilio's pockets and beat him before forcing him to the front door of his house, according to the search warrant said.
The men eventually forced Bacilio and his three-year-son into Bacilio car. Two of the men then drove the car away, taking Bacilio and the toddler with them. The third robber was seen running away from the scene.
At some point, the men stopped the vehicle and left Bacilio's son on the side of a road, the warrant said.
The suspects took Bacilio 8 miles from his home to an apartment in the 3600 block of Yarbrough Avenue, police said.
About noon on Dec. 12, Roberto Collazo Figueroa, 53, and another man were inside their apartment in the 3600 block of Yarbrough Avenue when they heard knocking on their door, according to the search warrant.
Figueroa believed he was answering the door for Bacilio, who was his close friend, the warrant said. Bacilio was then forced inside the inside the apartment by the two armed men.
Figueroa told investigators that the armed men then held him and Bacilio at gunpoint, demanded the keys to a safe and ransacked the apartment, the warrant said.
That's when a fight started between Figueroa and one of the robbers, the warrant said.
Bacilio, "who separated himself from the perpetrator who had been holding him at gunpoint," then began helping Figueroa fight the other robber, the warrant said.
Bacilio was then shot in his head, according to the search warrant. Figueroa was shot in the face and is recovering from his wounds, according to the warrant and police.
Bacilio died at the scene. Police officers found shell casings near Bacilio's body.
About 7 p.m. on Dec. 12, police found Bacilio's abandoned vehicle in the 2500 block of Kirkwood Street near its intersection with West 25th Street, the warrant said.
After the shooting, Baker, 17, and Khalil Ni'Kell Hill, 24, were arrested and charged with murder, two counts of first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon in Bacilio's death.
The search warrant indicated that a third man, Ahmad Caudione Coleman, 24, of Kinghill Drive was charged Jan. 29 with robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of first-degree kidnapping in connection with Bacilio's death.
Investigators believe Coleman worked with Baker and Hill to rob and kidnap Bacilio, the warrant said.
Coleman is accused of stealing money from Bacilio by threatening Bacilio with a knife, and kidnapping Bacilio and his son, according to Coleman's arrest warrant.
Last week, Winston-Salem police arrested Mychala Rene Wolfe, 26, of Bromley Park Drive and charged her with robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of first-degree kidnapping in connection with Bacilio's death, police said Thursday.
Hill is being held in the Forsyth County Jail with no bond allowed, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said.
Baker is being held in a juvenile detention center, police said.
Hill and Baker are scheduled to appear March 20 in Forsyth Superior Court.
Coleman was released from custody on Feb. 1 after he posted a $150,000 bond, court records show. Coleman is scheduled to appear Thursday in Forsyth Superior Court.
Wolfe is being held in the jail with her bond set at $100,000, court records show. She is scheduled to appear March 6 in Forsyth Superior Court.
Amber Baker has publicly declined to comment about the charges against her grandson, and she has asked for privacy for her and her family.
