Monday's prep highlights: Bulldogs shine at Lincolnshire Fields

In volleyball

Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 2, Tri-City 0. Savannah Butcher slammed 10 kills and Makenna Blaudow registered five kills to help the Knights (7-4) claim a 25-13, 25-22 nonconference win over the host Tornadoes.

Chrisman 2, Tuscola 0. The Cardinals (3-3) upended the Warriors (5-8) in a 25-15, 25-18 nonconference decision. Ava Raguth had four kills for the Warriors.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 2, Rantoul 0. Five kills apiece from Sophia Ray, Maci Lindelof and Bailey Bunting helped the host Falcons (8-3) claim a 31-29, 25-19 victory over the Eagles (6-5) in exciting fashion. Bailey Grider added seven assists for GCMS, while Lauren Herbert had seven assists and Airiana Bell had five kills and three digs for the Eagles.

Judah Christian 2, Fisher 0. Fifteen assists from Mackenzie Jackson, 12 digs from Liza Carder and seven kills from Avoni Kelly helped the Tribe (8-6) dispatch the Bunnies (4-7) in nonconference play. Paige Hott had 11 digs, Maylie Evans had five assists and Lily Fortune had three kills for Fisher on its home court.

Monticello 2, Clinton 0. Mady Melton collected 16 digs, Alice Swanson slammed nine kills and Cassidee Stoffel had eight digs and six kills to power the host Sages (9-4) past the Maroons (3-8) by scores of 25-20, 25-15 in a nonconference meeting.

St. Joseph-Ogden 2, Hoopeston Area 0. Ava Seggebruch registered six kills and four digs to complement 11 assists and seven digs from Emma McKinney in a 25-4, 25-21 nonconference win for the Spartans (7-5). Ava Taubert led the host Cornjerkers (3-7) with two kills, two blocks and an ace.

Salt Fork 2, Villa Grove 0. Eleven assists from Piper Kiser, six kills from Jobella Crafton and six digs from Hayden Thomas weren't enough to guide the host Blue Devils (4-5) past the Storm (0-5) in a nonconference match that ended 25-23, 25-18.

South Newton (Ind.) 3, Watseka 0. Fourteen assists from Christa Holohan, 13 digs from Noelle Schroeder, 10 digs from Ella Smith and six kills from Lauren Tegtmeyer weren't enough to save the Warriors (9-4) from a 25-21, 25-15, 25-10 loss in an interstate battle.

In boys' soccer

Danville 4, Schlarman 1. Goals from Aidan Perez and Gio Segura helped the visiting Vikings (3-3-3) claim a 2-1 lead by halftime of a nonconference contest, with the duo adding additional scores in the second half to put the game out of reach. Peyton Kuemmerle had 16 saves for the Hilltoppers (0-7), who received their lone goal from Marc Villaester.

Herscher 9, Iroquois West 0. The host Tigers shut down the Raiders (2-8) in nonconference play, extending Iroquois West's losing streak to four games.

St. Joseph-Ogden 9, Blue Ridge 0. A hat trick from Logan Mills, two goals apiece from Alex Acosta and Yadi Acosta and additional scores from Zach Harper and Davian Alvarez helped the Spartans cruise past the Knights (0-2) on their home field.

Uni High 5, St. Thomas More 0. Shabi Prasanth and Henry Wang scored two goals apiece for the Illineks (9-2), who also received a goal from Robert Tu during the course of a comfortable nonconference win over the host Sabers (4-2-1). Muhammad Iftikhar added five saves for Uni High.

Unity 7, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Westville 3. Kolton Black notched a hat trick and Caden McCaskill scored twice for the host Rockets (3-2-1), who also relied on scores from Teaguen Williams and Caden McCaskill in a nonconference win. Simonas Ankstutis scored all three goals for the Buffaloes (2-4).

Urbana 5, Monticello 1. Winner Nana, Hayden Barton, Anthony Becerril, Fortunel Nana and Fidnay Mukadi scored goals for the host Tigers (7-2) in a comfortable triumph over the Sages (2-8) in a nonconference match. Will Trimble scored Monticello's lone goal and Dallas Glauner had seven saves for Monticello, which trailed 2-0 at halftime.

In boys' golf

At Champaign. Mahomet-Seymour's quartet of Carter Henrickson (75), Jacob Schoudel (75), Kelton Hennesy (79) and Cole Thrasher (79) helped the Bulldogs secure a collective 308 and a 29-shot victory in the Champaign County Invitational at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club. Henrickson and Schoudel finished tied for the top individual spot, while Evan Kolb's 79 led Champaign Central's second-place finish at 337 and Justin Merrill's 78 paced third-place Rantoul (353).

At Clinton. Clinton's collective 170 topped Heyworth (175) and Villa Grove (197) at Clinton Country Club, with the Maroons' Ryan Pine (38) earning medalist honors and Karder Kirkman's 47 leading the Blue Devils.

At Danville. Nathan Fox (43), Mason Brines (44) and Cruz Dubois (45) led the charge for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (181) in a win against Salt Fork (187) and Westville (201) at Harrison Park Golf Course, with medalist Kendal Shults (42) leading the Storm and Christian Giles (48) pacing the Tigers.

At Sheldon. Tucker Stoller carded a 37 to pace Prairie Central's collective 155 at Shewami Country Club, which earned the Hawks a comfortable win over Armstrong-Potomac (195) and Watseka (215) in a nine-hole match. Easton Friedman (38) and Lane Whitfill (39) turned in strong rounds for the Hawks, with Luke Townsend (48) pacing the Trojans and Mason Galyen (50) leading the Warriors.

In girls' golf

At Clinton. Host Clinton's collective 207 was good enough to best Heyworth (228) at Clinton Country Club, with Carley Earle (46) pacing a strong outing for the Maroons. Villa Grove and Rantoul did not compete as teams, but Ella Schweighart's 45 was good enough to earn medalist honors.

At Danville. Salt Fork's Ava Donaldson shot a 56 at Harrison Park Golf Course, with teammate Charlotte Lyman adding a 59 to round out the Storm's performance against Westville and Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin. Westville was the only team that competed for a score as Shelby McCool's 62 helped the Tigers to a 258.

In girls' tennis

At Champaign. Danville swept host St. Thomas More in a 9-0 decision, with Reese Rundle (6-1, 6-0), Aliya Morgan (6-1, 5-7, 10-5), Samantha Brown (6-3, 7-6), Maya Towne (6-1, 6-0) Lexi Foley (6-0, 6-1) and Ruthie Underwood (6-2, 6-2) earning singles wins. Houpt and Rundle (8-0), Brown and Morgan (8-3) and Foley and Towne (8-1) earned doubles wins.
