Delaware's Department of Insurance has approved eight private paid family and medical leave insurance plans ahead of the state's implementation of the Healthy Delaware Families Act, which mandates a state-sponsored leave policy by 2026, Delaware Public media reports. These private plans offer employers alternatives to the state plan, potentially providing more generous benefits. Employees are entitled to up to 12 weeks of leave with up to 80% of their wages, funded by less than 1% of their weekly salary.
