Cowboys star rips 'Giants' stupidity' for letting Saquon Barkley sign with Eagles

Saquon Barkley had an impressive performance on Sunday against the Jaguars, rushing for 159 yards and putting up two touchdowns. It was another reminder of what the Giants let go this offseason.

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who, like Barkley, played at Penn State, ripped into the Giants' front office on his podcast this week for letting the star running back walk.

"People can say this is vintage Saquon, but this was always who Saquon was," Parsons said. "Since I've known him at Penn State until now, I knew this was what he was capable of. For Saquon, this is a blessing in disguise just off the strength of people are seeing what you're capable of when people appreciate you.

"The Giants did not appreciate him, and now the rest of the league is facing the consequences of the Giants' stupidity. This is always who he was. I don't want to say he lost his confidence, but he probably lost confidence in the system. The people that are blocking for him. I mean what more can you say? The guy has been dynamic. He's been worth the money and more."

Barkley and the Giants failed to come to an agreement on a longterm deal for over a year and he joined the Eagles on a three-year, $37.75 million deal.

He returned to MetLife in Week 7 and put up 176 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in Philadelphia's 28-3 win over the Giants.

New York selected Barkley No. 2 overall in 2018, and in six seasons he registered 5,211 rushing yards with 35 touchdowns as well as another 2,100 receiving yards with 12 touchdowns.
