As a shopping writer who works out five times a week, I've tested more than 70 pairs of leggings in the last two years (yes, it's a lot -- I know). Despite alllll that trial and error, there are really only a handful of workout leggings that are actually worth your time (and money!). However, after tons of sweat testing, I've found a handful of solid options that have kept me feeling strong and confident through all my workouts.
A great pair of leggings should fit just right, especially since you'll be stretching, lifting, and running in them. They should be snug enough to stay put, but flexible enough to let you move freely. They shouldn't bunch up, slide down, chafe, or, worst of all, give you camel toe (because let's be real, that's not just awkward -- it's uncomfortable). If your workouts require carrying essentials like AirPods or a protein bar, you should opt for a pair of leggings with pockets. And, of course, they should look just as good as they feel, so you can wear them with confidence.

How We Chose
I practically live in leggings. After two years of testing the most popular brands, I rounded up my all-time favorite leggings to work out in. I've tested each pair at the gym, on long runs, around the house, and on long days out and about to see which ones had top marks across comfort, support, compression, style, breathability, and moisture-wicking abilities. All the winners on this list have been personally vetted and tested by myself, and I also chatted with stylist and WH contributor Rose Lauture to get her thoughts on my favorite pairs, since she is constantly styling and testing leggings, too.
