Paul Heyman Praises Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre Asked The Rock For A Favor

During a recent appearance on the "Impaulsive" podcast, Heyman discussed the Undisputed WWE Champion, noting how Rhodes fully dedicates his time to WWE's growth.

Heyman said, "Cody Rhodes is the champion. If there's anybody right now, and my God the business that -- he's a commerce facilitator. He sells tickets, he sells t-shirts, he sells weight belts, he sells replica title belts that he signs, he drives commerce. 'Cody we need you at a -- we need you in Detroit. We're at 98%, we really want to sell out, we're going to book you on three morning radio shows starting at 6am in Detroit.' 'Great, I'll be there, if there's any others overnight, I'll do the overnight radios too. I'll do the afternoon drive time radios and then I'll get to the arena in time for the show.'"

Heyman added, "My God man, and he does it on his days off too. The commitment that he has to promote the product, that goes along with it too."

During a recent interview with "The Daily Mail," Drew McIntyre revealed that he requested a favor from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and The Final Boss is currently helping him with it.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On The Rock being around WWE: "He has always looked out for me since the very beginning of my career, he's always had such positive words. I just told a story about meeting his ex-wife, Dany, on a plane one time, and she told me herself and and Rock were big fans of mine and saw big things in the future, which was so cool to hear back then. Then fast forward so many years later, in 2017 I believe it was when TMZ had asked him who he thought was going to be the next big player. And it wasn't like I was about to win the Rumble. I was still kind of random, a bad guy on the show, and he was able to pick me out and go, 'Drew McIntyre. He's the one to keep an eye on'.

"He always had such positive public comments. When I re-signed, I sent the sword as a little gift. He has always been there for advice and to include me in his live stream after the match, I wasn't exactly expecting it, but I feel very honored that he's willing to shine a kind of light on me. And he swore first, then I saw an opportunity. It's so hard not to swear being Scottish. So I got a little laugh, and I got to ask a little favour, and he's working on that for me."

On Rock's association with The Bloodline: "There's a mentorship-style relationship there. Already, I've seen some people after I posted a video on social media of the interaction... 'Oh, you know he's a member of The Bloodline?' Wait a minute, am I not specific enough? I feel like I'm very, very clear when I talk and explain things, and then I even go to socials to extra explain things to people. If you've wronged me personally, I am coming for you.

"How has he ever wronged me personally? He has helped me over and over and over. So I don't know how much I have to break things down for somebody. Most people get it, I guess, but the idiots, freaking hell, especially on social media. Maybe it's my accent on TV, but then even my written word, apparently they still don't understand. Give me one second to explain it and it's, 'Drew's right, by the way.' What a shock. Give me a second to explain myself. I'm always right."

Pretty Deadly is fully committed to pitching a musical on WWE television, joking that Lin-Manuel Miranda apparently enjoys it.

The duo has been pitching their musical concept, but they have been rejected by nearly everyone, and they discussed this during a recent appearance on "Virgin Radio UK."

However, Pretty Deadly did admit that the creators of Hamilton and In the Heights haven't reached out to them.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

Elton Prince on pitching the musical: "We're very excited about working on it, I think it's going to be something very exciting. We have heard rumors, although he's not contacted us himself, but Lin Manuel Miranda loves the script."

Kit Wilson on their 'moment' with Miranda: "Lin Manuel came to a SmackDown recently and yeah, we had a moment, we had a moment on-screen, we shared it. We passed him our current draft. He's a bit of a massager, he massages, he gonna clean up some edges."

Prince on Miranda not having been in touch: "It's weird that everyone keeps telling us that he thinks it's like a Tony award winning idea but we haven't heard from him."

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the deal with Sportsnet potentially opening up other deals internationally: "That, I think, is the plan. Without knowing, I think that would be the ultimate goal. I've been part of TNA for over four years now, and the roster is so hard-working and so passionate, and I think the show is so different than the other big two companies per se that you might see on television. I think it offers something really different for a real wrestling fan. So that's what I hope for, more eyes on the product."

On a better TV deal taking TNA to the next level: "I 100% believe that. I think, whether it's a streaming service or a cable channel that is in more homes, that's the missing piece. Because the talent's there, the passion's there, the roster's there. Even the s*it Eric Tompkins does behind the scenes, making us all look cooler than we really are with the packages and the vignettes, it's all there. It's just a matter of eyeballs, and I think that's the move."

On WWE RAW's Netflix premiere: "I was just like, man, this feels big. This feels bigger than wrestling. That was the first time I was like, 'Damn, man. This is different.' But it's still wrestling. So it's like that money is gonna roll downhill and hopefully land in TNA's lap [laughs], and we can do something ourselves on a streaming platform."
