Fort Smith stroke survivors support group meeting to focus on healthy nutrition

FORT SMITH -- Stroke survivors will learn about the importance of nutrition and recovery when the Baptist Health stroke survivors support group meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Baptist Health Glass Classroom on the first floor of the hospital, 1001 Towson Ave.

Eating a healthy diet after a stroke is a vital part of the recovery process. Gena Pierce, an outpatient dietitian at Baptist Health Nutrition Counseling Center in Fort Smith, will provide education on which foods improve cardiovascular and brain health, as well as boost immunity.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
