Oct. 19 -- Claremore Christian continues to get it done on both sides of the ball.
The Warriors cruised to a 46-0 shutout victory over Life Christian on Friday night in Choctaw, marking their second-consecutive shutout and third of the season. The win follows last week's 52-0 dismantling of Cornerstone (Joplin, Mo.) and another commanding 56-0 victory over Cross Christian on Sept. 26.
Behind quarterback Grant Schulze, the CCS offense was unstoppable.
Schulze completed 9 of 12 passes for 161 yards and six touchdowns, spreading the wealth among his playmakers. Seth Smith had a standout performance, recording three receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns, while Daniel Snipes added 51 yards and a score on three catches. Malachi Zehder and Jackson Green each contributed with touchdown receptions of their own as well.
Schulze's pinpoint passing was complemented by a strong ground game, with Dylan Schulze rushing for a 19-yard touchdown and Troy Frank adding 37 yards on three carries.
On defense, the Warriors (6-2) were impenetrable, holding Life Christian scoreless and dominating every facet of the game.
CCS wasted no time getting on the scoreboard.
Smith caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Grant Schulze to open the game, though the 2-point attempt failed. Minutes later, Grant Schulze and Smith connected again, this time on a 50-yard strike, followed by a successful 2-point conversion from Snipes to give the Warriors a 14-0 lead.
Dylan Schulze then extended the lead with a 19-yard touchdown run, though the 2-point try was once again unsuccessful. Grant Schulze then hit Green for a 30-yard touchdown pass, giving CCS a comfortable 26-0 lead.
The Warriors kept the pressure on, with Grant Schulze finding Snipes for a 46-yard touchdown before capping the offensive outburst with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Zehder and a 10-yard strike to Kirk Whitehead.
CCS' dominance wasn't just on display against the Eagles.
Six days prior, the Warriors delivered another commanding performance in a 52-0 blowout win over Cornerstone (Joplin, Mo.), showcasing their firepower on offense and lockdown defense.
CCS wasted no time in setting the tone, as Smith opened the scoring with a 52-yard touchdown run, followed by a successful 2-point conversion from Whitehead. That was just the beginning of Smith's impressive outing, as he later hauled in a 47-yard touchdown pass from Grant Schulze, once again paired with a Whitehead 2-point conversion.
Grant Schulze, who had a stellar outing against Life Christian, was equally sharp against Cornerstone, distributing the ball effectively. His other notable contributions included a 33-yard touchdown pass to Isaak Soap and a 29-yard strike to Zehder, with the former leading to another Whitehead 2-point conversion.
The Warriors then added another touchdown pass, this time a 29-yarder from backup quarterback Derick Smith to Ethan Hall. That score was followed by a successful 2-point conversion from Jaxon Robinett.
The passing game was complemented by an efficient ground attack.
Frank contributed with a 5-yard touchdown run before a Dallas Murphy 2-point conversion, and Dylan Schulze capped off the scoring with a 47-yard rushing touchdown.
CCS's back-to-back shutout wins have sent a clear message: the Warriors are a force to be reckoned with on both offense and defense. As they head into their regular-season finale next week against Crossover Prep, the Warriors are firing on all cylinders and look primed for continued success with the Frontier Christian Athletic Association playoffs approaching.
