BOSTON (WWLP) - Three people are under arrest after a corrections officer was trapped in his truck on a road that was blocked by over 100 vehicles.
According to the Boston Police Department, at around 11:37 p.m. on Friday, officers were sent to the area of 485 Canterbury Street for an officer in trouble. They were informed that the officer in trouble was trapped inside his vehicle while trying to leave work, and a group of people jumped on it and banged on his windows.
When officers arrived, Canterbury Street was blocked off with over 100 vehicles. Officers ran down the street to find the officer who was in trouble. Seeing this, the group of people began to disperse. One of the cars side-swiped his car and tried to drive away. The officer was not injured and declined medical attention.
NBC Boston stated that officers approached one vehicle, which did not have a front license plate. After asking the driver to identify himself twice, he "shifted the vehicle into reverse, then quickly drove away, almost striking officers."
Officers ran after the vehicle on foot and the driver refused to get out of the vehicle. The driver then reached for a bag, which led the officers to draw their guns. Several people got out of the car and were put in handcuffs. A gun was found inside the vehicle, along with three different license plates and key fobs.
Two other people in a stolen vehicle gave fake names and another gun and two stolen license plates were seized from the vehicle.
Geraldo Colon, 21, of Framingham, Alan Ridenour, 19, of Marlborough, and Mario Florian,19, of Ashland were arrested. Colon is charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of receiving stolen property, unlicensed operation, and a violation to conceal a license plate number. Ridenour and Florian face several firearms charges. Police also recovered about $6,680 from Florian.
All three men are expected to be arraigned at West Roxbury District Court at an unknown date.
