The Union County Board of County Commissioners has announced the launch of its new "Explore Union County" app, available for free download on the App Store and Google Play. The app provides residents with easy access to information about parks, cultural events, elections, and other county resources.
Developed as part of Commissioner Chairwoman Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded's 2024 "Growing Together in Union County" initiative, the app features a news tab, events calendar, directories for parks and recreation, recycling and election information, contact information for Commissioners and county administration, push notifications for updates, and links to social media pages.
"Explore Union County is a great new way to discover more about our community, and an accessible tool to keep up with everything Union County has to offer," said Palmieri-Mouded. "Whether it's a new park upgrade, cultural event, election information, or just the phone number you need to ask the right person a question, we've got you covered!"
The app also includes a reporting function that allows residents to send feedback and photos about issues directly to the county. With user permission, GPS data can be used to pinpoint the exact location of reported issues. Users can also provide feedback on the app itself.
"This app is for the benefit of our community -- and that means it's going to get better the more feedback we get," Palmieri-Mouded added. "Once you've downloaded, feel free to use the App Feedback tool to share your opinions with us, and we'll consider them for future updates."
