METAL SCRAP: The Cortland Lions Club and NEO Junk will collect scrap metal to benefit Cortland's parks and recreation department 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Willow Park. Call 330-219-4879 to schedule a scrap pick up if you're unable to bring the scrap to the park. Cortland residents only. Propane tanks, televisions and computers will not be accepted. Scrap that is unacceptable will be rejected.

PURSE BASH: Thrive 10:10, a nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families by providing basic resources, education and support, will hold a Purse Bash from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard.
The event offers attendees the chance to win designer purses from top brands. Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door. All proceeds will go toward funding Thrive 10:10's programs.

ROCK FOR CARE: Chuck Gieswhite and Arbutus will host Rock For Care, a Music Concert and Bike Run for a Good Cause, from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Ross' Eatery and Pub, 8421 Tod Ave. SW, Warren. All proceeds go to the "Care Closet" at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

STREAMING AT THE LIBRARY: McKinley Memorial Library will host bestselling author Liane Moriarty during a live stream online program 7 p.m. Saturday.
