The 2024 season has not been kind to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite a 21-point comeback to tie the game with the Los Angeles Chargers, the Bengals wound up on the losing end, 34-27.
All of a sudden, the Bengals are 4-7 on the year and trending in the wrong direction with just a handful of games remaining.
Moreover, the Bengals are now 1-6 in one-score games this year, and the probability of making the playoffs has dipped to 22%, according to ESPN Analytics.
It was another crushing loss, and one the Bengals will be remembering for some time, especially with a bye week in Week 12.
After the game, cameras caught Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and other Bengals players walking in the tunnel to the locker room.
Burrow had his hands on his hips while looking down, and Chase was looking down at the ground as well in disbelief.
Bengals guard Cody Ford (#61) also had a blank look on his face after the crushing loss.
Both Burrow and Chase played fantastic on Sunday night. Burrow threw for 356 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, and Chase had seven receptions for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Tee Higgins broke loose with nine catches for 148 yards and a score, albeit in a losing effort for the Bengals.
It was quite the scene in the tunnel after the game, and the Bengals will now recuperate and head for a bye before a Week 13 showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
