4 Mobile County commercial burglaries lead to 3 arrests: sheriff's office

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) -- Three people have been arrested in connection with four Nov. 24 commercial burglaries, according to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.

According to an MCSO news release, deputies received surveillance video from one of the burglary locations, which reportedly showed a vehicle the suspects were driving.

The burglaries allegedly occurred at Doug's Quick Mart in Theodore, La Villa Tienda Mexicana Market in Irvington, Corner Quick Store II in Grand Bay, and a Texaco in Grand Bay.

The suspects are accused of stealing a black safe with about $5,400 in U.S. Currency from Doug's Quick Mart, a register drawer with about $1,000 in U.S. Currency from La Villa Tienda Mexicana Market, two register drawers with $350 in one and an unknown amount in the other as well as $400 in cash on the counter top, according to the sheriff's office.

The MCSO news release did not say the suspects stole anything from the Texaco in Grand Bay.

It said a yellow pry bar was used as a method of force in each alleged burglary.

MCSO said 20-year-old Bryant Gross of Mobile, 22-year-old Josiah Maurice Williams of Mobile and 22-year-old Cameron Jamar Collier-Newsome were identified as suspects and arrested.

According to MCSO, all three face one count of third-degree attempted burglary, three counts of third-degree burglary and one count of burglary tools possession.

MCSO said this investigation was conducted with the Mobile Police Department, and remains ongoing as several burglaries occurred in their jurisdictions.

Both expect an additional arrest for burglaries that allegedly took place in the city's jurisdiction.
