Mayoral candidate/former Comptroller Scott Stringer organizing rally on city's future

CITY HALL PARK -- Former City Comptroller and now mayoral candidate Scott Stringer will hold a press conference on Tuesday, Feb. 18, responding to recent events involving Mayor Eric Adams, his office announced late Monday. He plans to address the Department of Justice's formal request last Friday, Feb. 14 to dismiss the federal corruption charges against Adams and the resignations three days later of four deputy mayors.

Gathering at City Hall Park, Stringer will urge bold action to address the growing crisis. Stringer, who brings to his campaign 30 years of public service in the city, has served as a state Assemblymember, as Manhattan Borough President and then as City Comptroller from 2014-2022.

He reiterated on Monday, "...thankfully, New Yorkers -- not the president -- get to decide who is mayor next year. We need a mayor who will fight every day to deliver for New Yorkers, making our city safe and more affordable. I hope that now we can move on from what Eric Adams wants and focus on what New York City needs."
