The Cleveland Browns announced that they have terminated the contract of 10-year veteran long-snapper Charley Hughlett.
This news comes just after the Browns released starting safety Juan Thornhill, who, in 2025, was due $7 million in the final year of his current contract. Hughlett and Browns left guard Joel Bitonio were among the longest-tenured Cleveland Browns players on the roster. Both joined the organization at the start of the 2014 season. The long-snapper finished with 152 career games played in a Cleveland Browns uniform, ranking 15th on the team's all-time games played list.
They have also announced the signing of third-year cornerback and former Baldwin Wallace star Anthony Kendall.
New Browns cornerback Anthony Kendall has spent the last two seasons with the Titans and Ravens organizations since entering the NFL. The contract details for Kendall have yet to be announced, but it is expected to be a one-year deal. He finished his last season at Baldwin Wallace with First-team All-OAC honors and as a Second-team Division III All-American.
Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry and his front office have begun restructuring the salary cap with today's roster moves. With Deshaun Watson's contract and the possibility of a Myles Garrett trade, the organization will need to continue creating more cap space for the foreseeable future. We'll see if any other Browns veteran players find themselves in search of a new team.
