Cameo screens free film for Indigenous Peoples' Day

STAR STAFF

The Cameo Cinema will screen the documentary "Bring Them Home" ahead of Indigenous Peoples' Day at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

The documentary tells the story of a small group of Blackfoot people and their mission to establish the first wild buff alo herd on their ancestral territory since the species' near-extinction a century ago, an act that would restore the land, re-enliven traditional culture and bring much-needed healing to their community.

The film is narrated by Oscar-nominated Blackfeet/Nez Perce actor Lily Gladstone and co-directed by Blackfeet siblings Ivan and Ivy MacDonald with Daniel Glick.

"We are so looking forward to sharing the story of 'Bring Them Home' with the Napa Valley community," said Cameo proprietor Cathy Buck. "Thank you to our generous sponsor Jay Abbe, board member of the American Prairie Foundation, for making this screening possible."
