Wellesley remains atop the Globe Top 20 girls' cross-country poll, after keeping its unbeaten record alive with a 27-28 victory over No. 10 Newton North on Wednesday despite the absence of top runner Charlotte Tuxbury.

No. 2 Weymouth returned to the win column with a 20-38 victory over No. 15 Braintree, and 27-28 triumph over No. 4 Needham in a tri-meet on Wednesday. In a battle of the top two teams in the Dual County League Wednesday, Westford outdueled Cambridge, 27-29. The Ghosts climbed three spots to No. 3 following that big victory and their runner-up finish the previous weekend at the Ocean State Invitational.

Holliston dropped to No. 18 after suffering its second consecutive loss, 21-37 to Hopkinton, which moved up to No. 16. No. 17 Milton continues to climb the rankings after notching victories over Brookline and Natick on Wednesday, led by a dominant win from freshman Grace Danielson. Dover-Sherborn fell, 21-37, to Medfield, which improved to 3-0 on the season and enters the poll at No. 20.
