EAST WENATCHEE - A 30-year-old Wenatchee man died in a three-car collision Friday outside East Wenatchee.
A 2019 GMC Sierra was westbound on Highway 28 when about 1:25 p.m. it crossed into the eastbound lane and struck 2016 Ford Edge and then collided head-on with a 2011 Ford Mustang, according to a press release from Washington State Patrol.
The Edge rolled off the road. All vehicles came to rest in an eastbound ditch near milepost 4.
The driver of the Mustang, Martin Alvarez Sandoval, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Patrol. He was not wearing a seatbelt. His passenger, Brenda Medina Bustos, 27, of Wenatchee was transported to Confluence Health Hospital.
Sierra driver Tiffany Moncrief, 37, of Ephrata and Edge driver Robert Karpiscak, 51, of East Wenatchee were also hospitalized.
Investigators say the cause of the collision was failure to maintain lane.
The highway was closed until about 4:45 p.m. Friday.
