Wedding bells are ringing for longtime NFL coach Mike Zimmer and his fiancée, Katarina Miketin.
The couple, who have reportedly been together since 2021, announced their engagement on Jan. 3. Zimmer was previously married to his late wife Vicki for 27 years before she died unexpectedly at age 50 in October 2009, per the Minnesota Star Tribune. (The pair welcomed three children: son Adam, who died of chronic alcohol abuse in 2022 at age 38, and daughters Marki and Corri.)
Zimmer is currently the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, a position he took in 2024 after a two-season hiatus from the NFL and an eight-year run as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings (2014 to 2021).
Miketin, who is 26 years younger than her future husband and has a daughter of her own, is a successful model and entrepreneur. She has graced the cover of Maxim twice and owns OneTen Cycles in Minnesota.
So who is Mike Zimmer's fiancée? Here's everything to know about Katarina Miketin and her relationship with the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator.
Miketin was born in Duluth, Minn., to Serbian immigrants, per Maxim Australia.
"Serbian is my first language and growing up all I knew was Serbian music. My parents moved from Yugoslavia/Serbia for a better life for their future children," she told the outlet in 2021.
Miketin grew up with her two siblings -- a brother who serves in the U.S. Air Force and a sister named Tina, who has been in a wheelchair for most of her life.
"She is one of the strongest people I know. A drunk driver took away her ability to walk at the age of 18, but God kept her alive, and I am so thankful," Miketin shared on Instagram in 2020.
Miketin earned a degree in psychology from The College of St. Scholastica with plans to become a lawyer. She then pivoted to finance and earned an MBA from Northwestern University in 2015, according to her LinkedIn.
"A lot of people, and I mean a lot, told me I couldn't get into the program. All of this negativity fueled me more," she told Maxim Australia. "One of the proudest moments of my life was having my family fly to Chicago to watch me graduate."
Miketin worked in banking for nearly 20 years before buying OneTen Cycles -- a bike shop in Duluth -- in 2021. Per the shop's website, her "affinity for cycling, especially gravel riding" traces back to her childhood.
Zimmer and Miketin have been dating since at least 2021, according to the New York Post.
"Ask any of my friends, I have no 'type,' " the model told Maxim Australia when discussing her dating life that same year.
She continued, "If I were to say what I am attracted to, I would say it is someone who is secure, extremely loyal, very driven and loves a healthy lifestyle. My heart is big and receptive -- almost to a fault."
Miketin announced her engagement to Zimmer on Jan. 3, 2025.
The couple haven't revealed the exact date the proposal happened. That said, Miketin opened up about how they were first introduced.
"Five years ago they told us we needed to meet...God knew what He was doing. I thank Him for you, my best friend...so, of course...I said Yes!" she wrote on Instagram alongside a carousel of images, one of which showed off her diamond ring.
In addition to her career, Miketin is also a mom. She doesn't post about her daughter on social media, but she's previously mentioned her "little girl," whose name and age are unknown, while speaking to Maxim Australia in 2021.
"It is very hard juggling being a mother, a business owner, staying fit and being an influencer, but I have realized that by cutting out certain things [like TV], I can get a lot done," Miketin told the outlet.
Since joining Instagram in 2013, Miketin has amassed 400,000 followers and uses the platform to highlight her modeling achievements, including cover shoots for Maxim Australia, Maxim South Africa and HERS Magazine.
Miketin's Instagram feed is filled with a variety of photos, including snaps of her border collie, Chloe.
The model first introduced her "new trail running companion" to her followers in 2016, writing, "My heart just got bigger today. As soon as I met her I knew God made her for me."
