The Washington Commanders' social media team sent a strong response to Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt after his comments earlier in the week.
On "Monday Night Football," the Commanders shocked the Bengals 38-33 as a 7.5-point underdog.
Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels had his coming out party throwing 21-of-23, 254 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 12 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
In the week leading up to the game, Taylor-Britt was asked what he thought of Daniels and the Commanders' offense, claiming it to be a level below NFL caliber.
"They don't make him (Jayden Daniels) do a lot, so they keep it really simple for him," Taylor-Britt stated. "Nice college offense. (Kliff) Kingsbury is the OC."
After winning the game, the Washington Commanders' social media team made sure to respond to Taylor-Britt's comments, getting the last laugh.
They delivered their message in the team's postgame "win" post on X.
"Not bad for a college offense," they captioned it.
Taylor-Britt spoke to the media after the game and, this time, was asked if he regretted his comments about Kingsbury's "college offense." He respectfully denied it.
"No, ma'am, I do not regret it, and I didn't mean anything malicious out of the comment," Taylor-Britt responded. "It was just made bigger than it was. Yes, I can eat my words, most definitely."
In 2023, Washington finished with a record of 4-13, tied with the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals for the second-worst in the NFL.
In 2024, the Commanders have already reached two wins in just three games. They will go for their third win on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET on Fox.
