The Wrightstown football team is headed back to the WIAA Division 5 state title game after beating Northwestern in a state semifinal Friday.

DE PERE - Madisyn Berggren poured in 16 points, while Faith Walder and Ella Francois added 15 each as the Phantoms pulled away in the second half to earn the nonconference win in the season opener.

Walder reached the 1,000-point mark for her career in the first half as West De Pere led 33-30 at the break.

West De Pere finished with 11 made 3-pointers on the night.

Pulaski was led by Olivia Sprangers with 14 points and Ashley Servais with 13.

GREEN BAY - The Irish started fast, building an 11-point halftime lead and extending it further from there.

Gracie Martzahl had the hot hand for Freedom with 17 points as nine Irish players scored on the night.

Brook Lucassen and Jada Reader paced the Hornets with 13 points each.

Freedom led 28-17 at the break and hit eight of 11 free throws down the stretch to preserve the win.

BONDUEL - Audrey Weier scored 18 points and Josie Anvelink added 14 as the Bears built a 29-13 halftime advantage and never looked back in a season-opening nonconference matchup.

Weier had nine points and Anvelink had six at the break.

Sierra Slaby led Algoma with 11 points, connecting on a pair of 3-pointers.

DENMARK - The Storm outlasted the Vikings in a nonconference opener.

Leading the way for Denmark was Allie VanVonderen with 28 points.

LENA - Eva Brooks poured in 27 points and Madi Thomson added 20 as the Wildcats rallied from a halftime deficit to post the nonconference win.

Marinette led 26-22 at the break, but that's when Brooks took over. She only had five points at intermission but finished with three 3-pointers and hit eight free throws in the final 18 minutes.

Madison Kunick and Chloe Seymour led the Marines with 12 points each, while Bryanna Torko added 10.

Marinette connected on 21 of 22 free throws on the night.
