BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Investigators are working to determine what caused a fire at a vacant house on Thursday morning, Jan. 9.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the fire happened around 7 a.m. on Convention Street near North 13th Street.
Firefighters reported fire in the backyard and the rear of the home when they arrived, but crews successfully prevented the blaze from spreading any further than the back rooms.
The rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage, added the fire department.
