Nov. 5 -- BRIDGEPORT, -- Junior defender Kai Forsyth and junior midfielder Malher Santi Possu of the Concord University men's soccer team have been tabbed the Mountain East Conference Players of the Week.
Forsyth, a native of Derby, England was the MEC's Defensive Player of the Week, after scoring his second goal of the season in Concord's 6-2 win at Emory & Henry Wednesday. The CU captain joined in the offensive production as the Mountain Lions scored their most goals in a game since 2018.
Additionally, Forsyth helped the Concord defense limit Salem to seven shots in a 4-1 win Sunday afternoon. ossu, a native of Cali, Colombia, is the MEC's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. He scored four times across two games in two Mountain Lions wins. Possu recorded CU's first hat trick since October 2018.
when he found the back of the net three times at Emory & Henry.
Possu added his team-best ninth goal in Sunday's win at Salem. Possu starts the week tied for ninth in the MEC in goals scored.
Winners of nine consecutive games, Concord seeks to extend its win streak against nationally-ranked Charleston 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Callaghan Stadium.
