Is the Clippers a team to watch for Gianni's trade?

The Los Angeles Clippers are intriguingly being identified as a potential landing spot for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

An anonymous Western Conference executive told Adam Zagoria of N.J. Advance Media that the Clippers are among the critical few teams being linked for the Milwaukee Bucks superstar.

"The only places I can see him going are Miami or [the] L.A. [Clippers]," another Western Conference league source added.

Giannis and the Bucks are in a tough spot

Giannis and the Bucks are in a peculiar place right now. They are off to a nightmarish start, going for a disappointing 1-6 record heading into the third week of the new season despite Antetokounmpo averaging an astounding 31.0 points on 63.3 percent shooting to go with 12.3 boards and 6.3 assists.

The Bucks' ongoing struggle led many fans, experts, and lead executives to circle around and monitor the situation of the Greek Freak in Milwaukee. Many assume Antetokounmpo could ultimately force his way out of the team should the Bucks continue their unforeseen downslide.

A pipe dream for L.A.

It's interesting how the Clippers were mentioned as a team to watch on the ongoing speculations surrounding Giannis' uncertain future in Milwaukee. The two-time MVP would instantly make L.A. a formidable squad with his two-way dominance, and his superstardom will certainly attract audiences to the Intuit Dome.

But it would be a pipe dream for the entire organization to witness Giannis wearing a Clippers jersey via a trade. Asset-wise, Los Angeles simply has no significant pieces to offer that would entice Milwaukee to part ways with Antetokounmpo. Mainly because of the blockbuster Paul George traded with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019, the team will have no complete control over its first-round pick again until the 2030s.

It's not bad to fantasize about Giannis taking his talents to Clippertown. But we also have to be realistic about its probability, considering the team's problematic current and future flexibility.
