Kroger, Albertsons Pull Products Following BrucePac Listeria Recall

Kroger, Albertsons and Harris Teeter pulled certain products on Friday in connection with BrucePac's recall of about 10 million pounds of meat and poultry products earlier in the week.

The Agriculture Department's Food Safety and Inspection Service said the BrucePac recall followed routine testing of finished products containing BrucePac poultry products that found the presence of listeria. FSIS said on Wednesday there were no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products.

On Thursday, FSIS updated a list of items that used the recalled products. The list includes various items including Marketside salads sold at Walmart.

Albertsons said it recalled 12 types of ReadyMeals and store-made deli items supplied by Fresh Creative Foods, a unit of Reser's Fine Foods. Reser's announced its own BrucePac-related recall earlier on Friday, including the Don Pancho Chicken Street Taco Express Meal Kit.
