The Annapolis location is part of a broader expansion plan, with another facility coming to Abingdon's Boulevard at Box Hill.
Onelife Fitness, a McLean, Virginia-based gym chain, is set to expand its presence with two new locations. The first will occupy 55,000 square feet of the soon-to-close JCPenney at Annapolis Mall, with plans to open by late 2025 or early 2026. A second location is planned for the Boulevard at Box Hill shopping center in Abingdon, Harford County.
The Annapolis facility will feature an extensive list of amenities, including an indoor saltwater pool, cold plunge, saunas, cardio and strength training areas, and multiple studios for classes like yoga and boxing. Outdoor and indoor turf training spaces, a recovery studio offering red light therapy, and a kids' club will also be available. Memberships will cost between $39 and $49 per month, positioning the gym as a high-end yet affordable fitness option.
The gym chain has signed a long-term lease at Annapolis Mall, a property that recently changed ownership. The mall was sold to a partnership led by Dallas-based Centennial earlier this year, with plans to potentially add residential units to the site.
Onelife Fitness already operates a gym in Hunt Valley and envisions significant growth in the region, with plans for eight to 10 locations in the Baltimore area.
The expansion follows the gym chain's acquisition by 26North Partners LP, an investment firm co-founded by Josh Harris, an owner of the Washington Commanders. The deal, valued at $500 million, positions Onelife Fitness for continued growth as it seeks to expand its membership base, which currently includes 100,000 members across Maryland.
