Frank Ocean Reaches An Impressive Milestone For The First Time In His Career

Frank Ocean's fans have been waiting for more than eight years for a new full-length from the R&B superstar. There's no concrete sign that he's preparing another project to share with the world, so people continue to consume his older work in huge numbers. All their love on streaming platforms has helped the Grammy-winning musician reach a very special milestone -- one he's never seen before.

Blonde, Ocean's second proper studio album, is celebrating hitting a very lofty landmark this frame. The full-length has now lived on the Billboard 200 for 400 weeks.

The title is Ocean's first to spend 400 turns on Billboard's main albums ranking, which tracks the 200 most-consumed projects in the country. Both sales and streams play into where an effort lands on the list -- or whether it does at all -- and Blonde has been overperforming on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music ever since it arrived shy of a decade ago.

This week, Blonde keeps at No. 30. That's a notably lofty position for an album that was released just over eight years ago -- and especially for one that wasn't noted for being filled with hit singles, the presence of which can keep a title afloat long after it might normally fall away from the weekly ranking.

In the past tracking period, Luminate reports that Blonde shifted 19,000 equivalent units. Just 100 of those are actual sales, while streams made up the rest of those cobbled-together units.

Ocean has only sent two titles to the Billboard 200 throughout the decade-plus that he's been a beloved figure in the music industry. Channel Orange, his debut album, is now up to 196 frames on the chart -- less than half of what its successor has managed so far.

Blonde is still doing very, very well on some of Billboard's genre-specific lists. It's just one rung away from ruling the Top R&B Albums chart, as it keeps in the runner-up spot. The set is also living inside the top five on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, where it dips to No. 5. The project's popularity on sites like Spotify also keeps it on the Top Streaming Albums list, where it currently appears at No. 24.
