The Local Authority Integration Team (LAIT) continues to play a central role in supporting Ukrainians and International Protection (IP) applicants across Tipperary, according to the September management report from Tipperary County Council.
The latest figures show that there are 1,942 members of the Ukrainian community living in the county, alongside 1,034 international protection applicants, bringing the total number of people being supported to 2,976.
In July, a major milestone was reached in Clonmel when 328 Ukrainians moved into new modular homes on Heywood Road. The move took place over 22 and 23 July and was coordinated by the Department of Justice and Tuath Housing Association.

The LAIT team has since been providing ongoing support to help the new arrivals settle into their homes and integrate into the community. This work is being carried out in collaboration with a wide range of agencies, including the HSE, TETB, DSP, and South Tipperary Development Company.
The report highlights the importance of partnership in ensuring that those seeking refuge in Tipperary are not only housed, but also supported in accessing health, education, employment, and community services.
