A former Nevada Gaming Control Board manager claims an agency board member engaged in race-based hiring and then retaliated against her for raising concerns.
Plaintiff Jaime Black alleges that Control Board member Brittnie Watkins disregarded the board's focus on hiring the most qualified applicant, according to a complaint filed Monday with the US District Court for the District of Nevada. Instead, Watkins "openly manifested a race-based, strong preference for hiring persons similar to herself, i.e., Black women," the document says.
