ROGERS -- City development in Rogers might be easier than ever thanks to permit-ready building plans.

The City Council approved Tuesday a request to enter into an agreement with Fayetteville company Pattern Zones to streamline the development process in Rogers.

Community Development Director John McCurdy said there were two things that drove the desire to partner with Pattern Zones Co. He said the first was to have projects to demonstrate what is possible under the new Unified Development Code, and the second was to have a way to quickly get building permits to those who lost houses to tornadoes earlier this year.

"This is a way that we can get quick building permits to folks to go out and build new houses," McCurdy said, "and in a lot of cases go from a single-family unit on a lot to a duplex, or possibly combining some lots and providing more housing supply.
