The State Patrol crash report states that the Chevy driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash
A Minneapolis woman was killed, and several more were injured when a speeding, suspected drunk driver caused a seven-vehicle pileup on I-94 Wednesday evening.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a 32-year-old St. Paul man was driving a Chevy Avalanche "at a high rate of speed" on eastbound I-94 near Lyndale Avenue when he "struck and caused damage to several vehicles" at around 9 p.m.
A 26-year-old Minneapolis woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles struck - a Jeep Cherokee - died from her injuries. Another passenger in the Jeep, a 28-year-old woman from Virginia, Minnesota, suffered life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries.
The passenger in the Avalanche, a 20-year-old woman from St. Paul, is also in a life-threatening condition at Hennepin County Medical Center, while the suspect drunk-driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Five other vehicles were struck, with multiple people injured. That includes a GMC Yukon driven by a 38-year-old Anoka man, which was carrying two other men aged 43 and 31 and two children aged 5 and 2. Two of the men and one of the children sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The 22-year-old man from Minneapolis driving a Toyota RAV-4 and a 62-year-old man from Burnsville driving a Ford Edge also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The drivers of the two other vehicles struck, an Audi Q5 and a Nissan Versa, were not injured.
The State Patrol crash reports states that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. No arrests have been announced as of Thursday morning.
