After 12 seasons with the Benton Tigers, Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Reynolds Moore held a team meeting this morning to announce he is stepping down after a storied career on the gridiron.
Coach Moore became the second winningest coach at Benton last season. He led the Tigers to the playoffs 10 times over the past 12 years and won three of five District 1-4A titles. His overall record with the Tigers remains 82-52.
"Serving as the head football coach at Benton High School has been one of the greatest privileges of my life," Reynolds shared.
"I look back on my time here in that role with deep satisfaction, immense gratitude and a tremendous amount of pride at what we have been able to accomplish. I would like to thank all three principals who allowed me to serve our students, as well as the numerous assistant coaches who are truly the backbone of our success."
Moore is looking forward to continuing to serve his community in a different capacity. He has served in student ministry at a local church and plans to step away from coaching to afford him more time to invest in pastoral ministry at Covenant Church.
"Coach Moore has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless student athletes over the years," Benton High Principal Whitney Clark remarked. "Our school community will be forever grateful for the passion, commitment and dedication shown by Coach Moore and his family over the last 12 years."
Benton High is now in the process of accepting applications for the head coaching position. Interested applicants can contact Principal Whitney Clark at [email protected].
