The 'black-ish' star said he was very sick when he dashed from the hospital to gather his things and flee the flames
Comedian Deon Cole was forced to race from the hospital so that he could pack and flee his Los Angeles home that was under threat from the infernos blazing throughout the beleaguered city.
The former "black-ish" star told his 1.4 million Instagram followers he had to get discharged early from an L.A.-area hospital where he is suffering from a significant medical malady. He did, however, appreciate the birthday wishes even though he had to spend the day in a medical center with tubes sticking out of his arms.
After going home and gathering his belongings to evacuate the area, he said he could see the orange flames raging over the hills as he drove away.
"This day is devastating!!!! Left the hospital earlier, sick af, went home, then had to packed [sic] what I could to evacuate. As I drove away I seen the fire rising from behind my house, It's a nightmare!!!"
No word if Cole immediately returned to the hospital to continue his treatment, nor did Cole specify what is ailing him medically.
As of Jan. 12, the Palisades Fire has burned more than 22,000 acres with only an 11-percent containment. It is, therefore, easy to deduce that many more homes and businesses in the area are perilously vulnerable to that inferno.
Cole is among many thousands of celebrities and area residents who were ordered to evacuate their homes since the Pacific Palisades wildfire broke out in West L.A. last week.
