The race for Buffalo Grove village trustee in the April 1, 2025 consolidated election is already contested after the first day of filing for candidates.
In that election, there will be three, 4-year seats open, along with one, 2-year seat.
On the first day of filing at village hall Tuesday, Nov. 12, those who lined up first to submit their nominating signatures for the four-year seats included current trustees Joanne Johnson, Les Ottenheimer and Denice Bocek, in addition to Paulette Greenberg who served many years on the Buffalo Grove Days Committee.
For the two-year seat, resident Kevin Richards filed his nominating signatures.
Those interested in running have until 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 to file their papers at village hall in order to appear on the ballot.
