An arrest has been made in connection with a homicide on Sept. 23 in the Riverside neighborhood, the Buffalo Police Department reported Sunday.
Adalberto Bermudez, 46, identified only as a resident of Tonawanda, was taken into custody without incident Sunday in the 100 block of Hertel Avenue, police said. He was charged with second-degree murder, a Class A felony, and is held in the Erie County Holding Center.
According to the report, Bermudez was considered as a suspect after an investigation by homicide detectives into the death of Jose Barreto-Gonzales, 39, of no permanent address.
Police said the body of Barreto-Gonzales was found in an apartment in Shaffer Village on Isabelle Street, when D District officers responded to a call about a suspicious incident about 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 23. Officers tracked blood and footprints in a hallway to the apartment.
