Ahh, nothing like some 'refershment' from a beer

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Breweries often promote the refreshment that reportedly comes from drinking their beer. It's been a buzz word for Coors Light for years.

This month, a full-page newspaper ad in several publications touts the light beer as "Mountain Cold Refershment."

According to social media and published reports, the brewery kept a light-hearted tone about the typo but admitted the transposed letters was not intentional.

It's not the first time Coors has dealt with a typo and its products.

In the 1990s, it introduced Artic Ice when "ice" beers were all the rage and the public didn't have craft breweries on every corner.

"There's a mystery brewing. Actually, it's already been brewed, bottled, and labeled. Why did the Coors Brewing Company misspell the word 'arctic' on their new domestic beer Artic Ice?"

According to the paper, the brewery's response "was swift and cold as, uh, arctic ice."

"It was an intentional spelling of the word arctic. It's distinctive. It's memorable," a spokeswoman was quoted as saying.

It's still misspelled. The company doubled down in defending the beer's name:

"We don't think of it as a misspelling. We think of it as alternative spelling."
