No injuries or structures impacted by Boulder County grassland fire

First responders put out a grassland fire Sunday near Boulder, preventing injuries and damage to structures.

According to a Boulder County Sheriff's Office release, at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, dispatch was alerted to a 20-by-20-foot grassland fire in the area of 3700 Diagonal Highway.

Multiple agencies responded and were able to extinguish the flames by 5:02 p.m. According to the release, there was an encampment of an unhoused individual nearby, but no reported injuries.

The cause and origin remains under investigation, according to the release.

Responding agencies included Boulder police, Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) Rangers, Lefthand Fire, Mountain View Fire, Boulder Rural Fire, Boulder Mountain Fire, Colorado State Patrol, Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT), BNSF Railway and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.
