Kate Middleton Attends Remembrance Day Ceremony After Completing Chemo

Is Joan Vassos Engaged After 'Golden Bachelorette'? Season 1 Spoilers

Princess Kate Middleton tended to her royal duties while attending Remembrance Day on Sunday, November 10, amid her cancer battle.

Kate, 42, looked stunning in a dark dress that was cinched at the waist with a bright red button. She also wore a red broach pinned to her lapel. She was accompanied by husband Prince William and the two were greeted with smiles as they entered Royal Albert Hall.

Every second Sunday of November, the King "leads the nation in remembering those who have died in world wars and other conflicts," according to the royals official website. The ceremony, which was led by King Charles III, was held at Cenotaph, which is considered the center of the nation's homage.

"Members of the Royal Family unite with others in thousands of similar ceremonies across the UK and worldwide in holding two minutes' of silence at 11am," the description says on the website.

Princess Kate has made public appearances since announcing the end of her chemotherapy treatment in September. That said, Remembrance Day is her first official ceremony alongside her husband, Prince William, 42, and their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

In October, Princess Kate and Prince William, 42, made a private visit to the victims and first responders of the fatal stabbings in July at a Taylor Swift-themed fitness and dance class in Southport, England. The gathering marked Kate's first public return to work.

"I can't underestimate how grateful they all are for the support you provided on the day. On behalf of them, thank you," the Princess of Wales said during the intimate discussion, per the Mirror.

She later continued, "All the families are so different. Individually, too, they are managing it and processing this tragic event in very different ways but they're getting support from families and officers and things like that. I think being able to have opportunities to be able to speak to different people in the community about the experience and drawing that together and sharing their experience, I think, is massively helpful."

Princess Kate experienced a whirlwind year after announcing her cancer diagnosis in March, two months after undergoing abdominal surgery. She rested in the months following her diagnosis, while undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.

On September 9, Princess Kate shared positive news, announcing that she reached the finish line in her treatment.

"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," she said in the video. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you."

Now that Kate mustered up the strength to perform her work duties, she is committed to giving back to those actively battling cancer. In October, she made a teen's dream come true when she invited Liz Hatton, a young photographer with terminal cancer, to take pictures at an event in Windsor Castle.

"In September, she publicly vowed to help others through their journeys, and Kate is following through," a source exclusively told Life & Style at the time. "Meeting Liz was emotional for Kate, but her work has only just begun. She wants to do more. Kate really is determined to turn her difficult experience into something that benefits others."
