ROCHESTER, Minn. - Threatening another man with a gun results in probation for a Rochester man.
Jared Anthony Kalis, 27, was sentenced Wednesday to five years of supervised probation and 50 hours of community work service. Kalis pleaded guilty to terroristic threats for an incident on September 16, 2023.
The Rochester Police Department says it happened near the intersection of 3rd Street and 1st Avenue SW. According to court documents, city camera video of the incident shows Kalis' girlfriend exiting their vehicle, approaching the car stopped ahead of them on the street, and Kalis' girlfriend pounding on the driver's side door.
Investigators say that led to the male driver of the other vehicle getting out and arguing with Kalis' girlfriend and when the other driver threw a drink at Kalis' girlfriend, Kalis then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the other man.
