One of the best aspects of "College GameDay" has to be Lee Corso's friendship with Kirk Herbstreit. You can see how much genuine respect they have for each other during every show.
For years, Herbstreit has received praise for supporting Corso when things get tough. On Saturday morning, the former Indiana head coach was able to return the favor.
Herbstreit's longtime dog, Ben, passed away earlier this week after a battle with cancer. "College GameDay" had a tribute lined up for the beloved Golden Retriever. Before it aired, Herbstreit was fighting back tears.
Corso put his hand on Herbstreit's shoulder and offered him support once he saw how heartbroken his colleague was over Ben's death.
Fans watching "College GameDay" this Saturday praised Corso for this touching gesture.
"Seeing Lee Corso help Kirk Herbstreit, returning the favor, broke my heart," one fan tweeted.
"It was so touching. My heart broke for Kirk," another fan wrote. "I loved the way Lee Corso was tenderly looking and comforting him. True friendship."
"It was so sweet when Lee Corso put his hand on Kirk's shoulder," a third fan said.

As for the tribute, let's just say Herbstreit's monologue about Ben brought a tear to our eyes.
"Ben didn't care who you were. Everyone deserved his love. I think we can all learn from that at a time where everything seems to be aimed at dividing us," Herbstreit said. "What I experienced with Ben was that and so much. Dogs only flaws as species is they don't live long enough, but the warmth they give us never goes away, so neither will Ben."
We hope the Herbstreit family knows just how much Ben was loved by everyone.
