The Washington Commanders fell 34-26 to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12 at Northwest Stadium. Despite standout performances from rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin, injuries to key players hindered and compounded Washington's efforts.
CommandersLate in the fourth quarter, McLaurin brought the Commanders within one score, hauling in an 86-yard touchdown pass from Daniels. McLaurin finished the game with five receptions for 102 yards and the touchdown. However, kicker Austin Seibert missed the extra point, leaving the Commanders down 27-26.
Washington's backfield was hit hard by injuries. Brian Robinson sustained an ankle sprain on the first play of the game but returned to finish the first half before being ruled out after halftime. Robinson was coming off a recent knee injury that limited his participation earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, Austin Ekeler, who also suffered a concussion earlier this year, was sidelined again after a nasty hit on the Commanders' final kickoff return.
Robinson finished the game with just five touches for 13 yards and one reception for 11 yards. Meanwhile, Ekeler contributed nine carries for 22 yards and just two receptions for two yards.
Head coach Dan Quinn addressed Ekeler's status postgame, Quinn said that is appears that Ekeler sustained a concussion and that will undergo further tests once he arrives at a local hospital as a precautionary measure. General manager Adam Peters was also present during discussions regarding Ekeler's condition.

The Commanders' offense outpaced Dallas with 411 total yards compared to the Cowboys' 332. Daniels contributed 274 passing yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and a team-leading 74 rushing yards, including a rushing touchdown.
However, four sacks and missed opportunities on third down hampered their progress. Washington now looks to regroup as they prepare for a Week 13 matchup against the 3-8 Tennessee Titans, aiming to keep their playoff hopes alive despite a depleted roster.
