Redshirt freshman cornerback Amare Snowden announced on social media that he will enter the transfer portal after spending two seasons with the Badgers.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank God, as he blessed me with a special gift and talent to play the game I have grown to love," Snowden wrote on X. "I would like to thank my coaches and teammates for the experiences and lessons throughout the past two years of my life. I will forever be grateful for the Wisconsin community.
"With that being said, after deep consideration and talking with my family and trying to regain my love and confidence back, I have made the decision to enter the transfer portal as a redshirt sophomore with 3 years of eligibility left."
Snowden initially committed to coach Fickell and his staff at Cincinnati before following them to Madison when he took the job at Wisconsin.
In 2023, Snowden redshirted without seeing the field. This season, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound defensive back from Michigan appeared in two games during his time in and logged three defensive snaps in a blowout win over Purdue, according to PFF, where Snowden recorded a tackle.
With Snowden entering the transfer portal, he becomes the third known Wisconsin football player to do so this offseason, joining quarterback Cole LaCrue and outside linebacker Leon Lowery.
