Michigan State football depth chart analysis: Special teams

Michigan State football depth chart analysis: Special teams

The winter portal window has concluded, and now signing day, and the Spartans have added 16 new transfers to the roster to go along with a freshman class of 18. While the spring portal window still looms, Michigan State fans will have a good idea of what the depth chart will look like, especially heading into spring ball.

In this series, we will be breaking down the projected depth chart for the Spartans position by position. After breaking down the offensive side of the ball: quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end and offensive line depth charts, we broke down the defense depth charts: defensive line, linebackers, cornerbacks and safeties. Now, the last thing to take a look at is the special teams unit.

MSU's special teams unit feels pretty cut and dry heading into 2025, with the biggest question mark being the return man.

The Spartans special teams unit will need to be a strong unit, as it is often an overlooked unit, but one of the most important units in the game of football.
