Greece's economy expanded at a faster pace in the fourth quarter from the previous three months, thanks to higher investment and exports, the country's statistics service (ELSTAT) said on Friday.
Gross domestic product grew by 0.9% quarter-on-quarter in the October-to-December period, versus an upwardly revised 0.4% growth in the third quarter. For the full year, the economy expanded by 2.3%.
Greece, which almost went bankrupt in the past decade, has been recovering from a 2009-2018 debt crisis. However, Athens now expects economic growth of 2.3% this year outpacing the euro zone average.
